Quick Tip:
Where to “Hang Out” With Prospects on the Internet

A good way to get to know your prospect is to hang out with him and listen to what he has to say.

You can “hang out” online with prospects by visiting online forums. To find appropriate forums, use the advanced search option on Google or Yahoo.

Type “forum” (without the quotes) in the “with all the words” box. Then type the area you’re writing about – such as “alternative health” or “stock options” (without the quotes) – in the “with the exact phrase” box.

You’ll find people on the forums who are trying to sell things. But you’ll also find people who are writing about their problems, fears, disappointments, and other emotional concerns. Study the words and phrases they use so you can develop a common vocabulary. And listen carefully to what they say so you can begin to understand them.

Warning: Don’t limit your investigation of your prospects to visiting forums. This is just one strategy you must use to get to know them intimately.
