The Results Are in … the AWAI Member Survey Results, That Is
We'd like to extend a special thank you to everyone who participated in our recent AWAI member survey. The information you provided will be extremely valuable in helping us further improve our programs and services.
Here are some of the interesting things we learned about you and your fellow members …
More than half of the folks who responded to the survey joined AWAI within the last year, and another 25% joined within the last two years.
32% of people who responded are between 41 and 50 years old. 31% between 51 and 60. 20% are under 40 and 15% are over 60. Females slightly outnumbered males (52% to 48%).
You ranked the top five most useful topics in The Golden Thread as:
- New Secrets/Techniques
- Tips for Getting Clients
- Tips for Running/Building Your Business
- Interviews With Masters
- Job Opportunities
You ranked the top three industry niches you're interested in as:
- Fundraising
- Catalogs
- Health
And, as we expected, we were reminded just how diverse AWAI's membership is. Some of the jobs you presently hold include: Banker, Veterinarian, Organic Market Farmer, Paralegal, English Professor, Pastor, Army RN, Grievance Coordinator, Software Developer, Motorcycle Tech, Carpet Cleaner, Bookkeeper, Woodworker, Stay-at-Home Mom, Structural Engineer, School Psychologist, Ranch Hand, Police Officer, Stock Trader, Forensic Investigator, and many others.
But one of the most exciting results of the survey was that 78% of respondents said they want to work full-time as a copywriter, and over half want to hit the six-figure mark.
AWAI members have spoken, and we couldn't be more pleased. Let's make that dream a reality for all of you in 2007!
Thank you again to those who participated in the survey. We are already hard at work brainstorming new ideas, and, as always, would love to hear yours. Let us know what we can do to help you achieve your copywriting goals this year by contacting us.
