American Writers & Artists Institute Reduces Environment Footprint by Converting All of Its Copywriting Courses to E-book Reader Formats
New E-book Reader format reduces AWAI’s environmental footprint by eliminating wasteful printing, yet also offers AWAI members more flexibility to access its copywriting courses from anywhere in the world.
Delray Beach, FL – July 8, 2010 – American Writers & Artists Institute (AWAI), www.awai.com, today announced the addition of the E-book Reader format for its entire catalog of popular copywriting courses, including its flagship, AWAI’s Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting. The decision was made to reduce wasteful advance print runs, and also meet the needs of its members who study the company’s programs from all over the world.
“We’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of requests for E-book Reader compatible versions of our copywriting courses over the last year,” responded Katie Yeakle, AWAI’s Executive Director. “And I think the timing is perfect, given the travel plans many people have over the summer. Instead of lugging along a laptop or a heavy manual, our members can conveniently slip their program materials into their handbag or carry-on.”
The company has made some major shifts since it published its first home-study program in 1997. Along with E-book Reader compatible versions, all of its programs come with:
- Print on Demand options for easy and accessible desktop reference;
- Online formats allowing for timely updates;
- Ongoing webinars, video, and teleconference tutorials to further enhance learning; and
- An online job board (www.DirectRespopnseJobs.com) where members can connect with marketers and business owners looking to hire copywriters.
“Thank you so much AWAI!” enthuses Ann Jordan-Mills, AWAI Member and Freelance Copywriter (www.writtenwords.ca), who was one of the members suggesting AWAI make the switch earlier this year. “I take my E-book Reader everywhere I go,” continued Ann. “I read it while I’m waiting for appointments; I take it on the plane and in the car. In fact, any time I have a few spare minutes, out comes my E-book Reader! I’m totally thrilled that I can now take my copywriting courses along with me, too. It only makes good sense for the best use of my time.”
According to Forrester Research, “the eReader market is hot: Barely a day goes by without an announcement of a new device release or acquisition.” Forrester went on to predict, “ … the next five years will see an explosion of the eReader textbook market, and in 10 years, the market will be driven by businesses going green in education, government, health, and other sectors.”
AWAI has responded to the change. “As an Internet marketer, I believe in embracing technology, and am happy that we can now offer this new format for our products,” said Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner of AWAI and Founder of its newest division, Wealthy Web Writer (www.wealthywebwriter.com). “But I’m even more pleased to know that this change not only impacts our members, but the company’s environmental footprint as well.”
