How do you know if you should invest in Bootcamp?
With the early-bird deadline ending today, I’m getting quite a few emails and tweets from AWAI members wanting me to help them answer that question.
But last weekend I came across an article I wrote that explained a powerful lesson I learned from a language software called Rosetta Stone, which I’d like to share with you today.

Mike wanted to know if anyone had ever wanted their money back (not a single person), if anyone had ever complained about the event (no), and if people did make money after the event (yes – and I’m happy to put you in touch with some of them directly so that they can tell you what they did and how they did it.).
But it was the end of Mike’s email that made me decide to write the article.
“I'm, in any case, interested in what I'd achieve *after* the workshop is over, given that I'm bright and highly motivated, and well educated to boot.”
When I got to that last question, my mind immediately went back to three years ago …
My now husband Jeremy and I were planning a trip to Spain. He’d never traveled anywhere with a passport before, and I was very excited to introduce him to the travel bug.
The only issue was that neither of us spoke Spanish. I suggested we should learn at least a little conversational Spanish before going, to give ourselves some confidence.
That Christmas I opened one of my gifts from him, and lo and behold he had bought me the Rosetta Stone program for learning Spanish. I was so excited and could hardly wait to get started.
Now if you’re not familiar with Rosetta Stone, it’s a homestudy program that boasts having taught millions of people to speak another language. They have a unique approach to teaching, and even have a six-month guarantee.
And there I was that Christmas morning, with the opportunity to learn Spanish … and I didn’t even have to pay for it, because it was a gift!
That was three years ago, and our trip to Spain has come and gone.
We had an amazing time … even though neither of us spoke a lick of Spanish.
You see that Rosetta Stone program is still in the box.
Once the initial excitement passed, and my busy daily life resumed after the holidays, I simply never got around to taking the program.

Just like with having accountability for your actions, you are the only person who can decide if something is valuable enough to you. And while someone may want to help you, you will do yourself a disservice if you don’t make those important decisions for yourself, and commit to investing the money in yourself.
And that takes me back to Mike’s email …
“I don't have the money for it, unless I absolutely am sure I can make money afterward. It's an act of faith I might undertake. Can you give me enough info to help me make a good decision?”
You may have the same question about this year’s Bootcamp, but just like with Mike, I can’t answer that for you.
Because it will be completely up to you. It will depend on your own commitment, and what you do with the skills once the event is over.
