Doing the Impossible

Today, I have a personal story to tell you. It’s a story of how I was able to double … then triple my income in just under three months.

And, I did it in 2008 — during the worst market crash since the Great Depression.

At the end of my story, I will tell you the grand key I used to turn things around for me … and show you exactly how you can do the same thing.

At the beginning of 2008, I was working as a freelance copywriter. Life was good, but I had a problem. The problem was that I was constantly chasing clients. The tail was wagging the dog.

Even though I made six-figures and was able to work from home, I didn’t really have a business … I had a self-created job. I didn’t really have freedom of time … I was chained to a small group of clients who controlled my lifestyle.

It was unacceptable for me, so I started looking for ways to free myself.

What I needed was a real business. A business that would allow me to make money, even when I wasn’t directly working, consulting, or writing.

Toward the end of 2008, something small, but very dramatic happened to me …

And just six months later, the bulk of my income was not directly attached to my time. I brought in income even when I wasn’t writing, consulting, or speaking. What’s more, my income jumped twofold. Within 12 months, it had taken another jump.

This was incredibly liberating and rewarding.

The thing is, at this time, the media, and hundreds of wise, talking heads, said that it was the time to draw back, slow down, and be very cautious. After all, the business world was falling apart and stocks were plunging. Money was drying up and disappearing. It was a scary time.

They told me it was impossible to radically change my business and survive. But I did it … and thrived.

How did this income and lifestyle transformation happen?

The real key to this rapid — almost impossible victory — was my connection with a powerful network of highly-knowledgeable people and systems.

You see, the reality is, I wasn’t smart enough or motivated enough to create this personal transformation on my own. And, my main mentor was not smart enough or motivated enough to get it done either. And, simply putting the two of us together was still not enough.

It took an entire network of well-connected people and systems.

This network of systems and people opened the following doors for me …

  • I connected with a new breed of customers that bought more, more often, and when I wasn’t on the job.
  • I was given simple instructions on how to consistently attract these kinds of customers. Even though these instructions were implemented within weeks, I personally did very little to actually implement it. And, it cost me nothing because of the unique network I was connected to.
  • I wiped out my technical obstacles … overnight I was able to implement advanced technologies without knowing how it all actually worked. It was plug-and-play at its best.
  • I gained access to a large group of world-class businesspeople — all interested in helping me advance my business and make more money. Many of them gave me transformational suggestions that did not cost me extra money.
  • People in my powerful network also consistently sent business to me for no other reason than that I was part of the “club” and they liked me.
  • I was given an endless — but manageable and customized — stream of proven business practices, principles, and techniques.
  • This inspiring network helped me to see my blind spots, shortcomings, and business deficits … and then gave me rapid, simple solutions for overcoming the same.

As you can see, when you are connected with the right people and systems, it allows you to drastically accelerate your income, expertise, presence, and reputation.

All of this is central to improving your lifestyle by having more money and more time to enjoy it.

The question is this: Where do you find a powerful, profitable network of people and systems like this?
