Let’s Schedule a Meeting
It’s the end of August – summer is basically over and the kids are getting ready to head back to school.
And something else – it's just a little over two months until our 13th annual Bootcamp, an event all of us here at AWAI (and so many of our members) look forward to every year.
You know, we’ve come a long way since Michael, Don, Paul and I first set up an overhead projector in a room with 20 folding chairs at the Delray Marriott back in 1999 …
These days, Bootcamp is the copywriting event of the year, where writers (experts and beginners alike), web pros, publishers, product managers, and marketers from around the world gather together to mix, mingle, teach, share knowledge, learn, and strike up deals over four exciting, information-packed, non-stop days.
And that’s no exaggeration. From the Wednesday night cocktail party through to the Saturday afternoon closing bell, and all hours in between, there’s so much going on that it’s all you can do to catch your breath sometimes!
I can’t tell you how many powerful secrets we’ve revealed over the years … how many first-ever assignments have been handed out through Job Fairs and contacts made … how many careers have been launched because an upstart copywriter met just the right person after a presentation or over an evening cocktail.
That’s the great thing about what Bootcamp has become …
It’s not just the learning anymore. It’s about the contacts made, the networking, the many, many jobs waiting out there – jobs that are literally yours for the taking.
And if there’s any doubt about the opportunities for copywriters in the wake of these tough economic times, let me set the record straight. Every marketer I talk to is still dying for good copy.

The idea behind these one-on-one phone calls is to sit down and come up with a solid plan you can follow.
You come armed with your goals and any questions you have.
Ask anything you want.
And we’ll provide a customized plan for you to follow.
But here’s the thing about these private chats …
Obviously, there are only two of us and so much time. We can only sit down with so many people. (Of course, we can “chat” anytime, and we can catch up together at the event too. But to sit down for a scheduled one-on-one phone meeting so we can give you our full, undivided attention– that’s something that needs to be planned and set up in advance.)
So we’re scheduling these “get-togethers” on a first-come, first-served basis. In fact, based on how many people have already signed up for Bootcamp, we’re only going to be able to offer these meetings to people who register by August 31st.
For instance, if you’re planning on coming to Bootcamp and you sign up today, your name will get on the list, no problem.
But if you wait a week or so, I’m not so sure. There’s a very good chance all our slots will be full.
That’s why, if you’d really like a chance sit down with us and chat about anything you like – copywriting, marketing, the industry, the different niches, the copy you’re working on – it’s best you sign up for this year’s Bootcamp sooner rather than later.
There are a few more good reasons too.
