AWAI Member Joe Lilli Lands His Dream Client

Joe Lilli's personal passion for alternative health runs deep. For many years, he’s been interested in good nutrition, exercise, and fitness. He also has a serious interest in alternatives to mainstream medicine. It's a way of life for him.

As a copywriter, he was eager to land clients in this niche.

His hard work has paid off.

He’s written an e-book for Discovery Health Publishing and gotten good feedback on the manuscript from their creative director. It’s now ready for publication. He was paid a flat fee — but also gets royalties on profits from the book sales.

The alternative health publisher has also told him they’d like to hire him for future projects and meet with him at our upcoming Bootcamp later this month.

He found the client through AWAI’s DirectResponseJobs.com Job Board back in April. A little research about the company allowed him to really personalize his pitch for the project. (That, by the way, is a great way to set yourself apart from other freelancers.)

As Joe told us:

“I wanted to do a great job for them and, hopefully, use that as a springboard to other writing projects — not only from them but from other companies as well. From the feedback I received, I believe things are beginning to fall in place.

“My dream of becoming a ‘Barefoot Writer’ is coming closer to reality … thanks to AWAI.”

Great work, Joe! See you at Bootcamp.

  1. Thank you for contributing this article and I want you to know that I really enjoyed reading it.

Alternative medicine is the wave of the future and it is here to stay.

We cannot continue to abuse our bodies and then expect the medical establishment to pick up the tab.

Conventional medicine has not worked for a lot of people due to problems associated with invasive surgery and popping pills that have side effects.

That's why countries like India and China have advocated alternative medicine for thousands of years through ayurveda, naturopathy and homeopathy.

After all, prevention is better than cure and there is no substitute for massage, diet, exercise and good sleep.

  2. I too subscribe to alternative medicine. I worked for a thoracic surgeon and while reading one of our patient's charts, I asked him why she was on so much medicine...he told me "if she wants to live". (I counted 17 medications). I myself have been inflicted with breast cancer...the same doctor told me not to worry about a thing...he will take care of everything...AND HE DID! The one thing I noticed is that he told me not to take chemo or radiation, since they affect the major organs of the body, but the doctors will not tell you that. Ever since, i have been reading and researching alternative treatments for everything that affects people in my family...so congratulations Joe!
