Boost Your Freedom Fund AND Your Copywriting Business

It’s June Steward again. Today I’m talking about how you can build up even more Freedom Fund income — and promote your business at the same time.

The way to do this is to write and create an information-marketing product.

In a way, this is really an extension of the e-book concept we talked about yesterday. E-books are a type of info-marketing product.

But info-marketing products can be much more than e-books. They can include special reports, how-to guides, courses, and full-length books in digital, online, or hard-copy format. You can even make your information product a series of videos or downloadable mp3s.

Info-marketing is about selling ideas. For many business owners, including copywriters, info-marketing products are a profitable sideline. And it’s extra promotion for their existing business.

A hotshot copywriter sells the manual and video seminars to his three-day course. A realtor sells his book about how to make a million a year buying and selling property. A health guru sells a month-long organic mind and body bootcamp package.

If you’re new to copywriting, you could create an info-marketing product based on your past work experience. If you worked as a chef, you can create a fun 30-day cooking plan guaranteed to tickle taste buds and help your reader shed pounds.

This is partly what makes an information product so much more lucrative than an e-book. If the information contained within it is highly specialized and exclusive to an industry or a niche then you can charge a lot more.

A simple e-book about a hobby may sell for $10-$30. But what if you produce an industry-specific information product with valuable how-to tips? It could potentially make someone thousands of dollars or revolutionize their life. Such a product can sell for $500. Or even $5,000!

Keep in mind, it’s passive income you’re after … money that comes in whether you’re working or not. So be sure to focus on e-books, courses, or anything you only have to write once. (Subscription newsletters are also info-marketing products, but you have to keep producing them, issue after issue. So, although you may be getting regular income, it’s not actually passive income.)

Info-marketing products could be a good fit for you if:

  1. You have specialist knowledge that could add a lot of measurable value to someone’s life or business.
  2. You are already running a business where you can use existing knowledge and resources to create a secondary income.
  3. You enjoy teaching and empowering others.

  1. I'm thinking out loud, but I'd do 3 things:

    1. Charge a premium price that's in reach of most budgets. $500 is low enough for the serious to afford, yet high enough to eliminate tire kickers.

    2. Deliver a 30-day Bootcamp in bite-size chunks via autoresponder program. No information overload, and folks can benchmark their progress.

    3. Offer a "fast forward" option to customize and speed up lesson delivery. Faster workers could recoup their $500 sooner and earn profits in 30 days or less.
