The Hiring Crew Like No Other

Jen Adams here, back to talk about the last major group of people you need in your life as a writer.

They're not other writers, connectors, inspirations, or even teachers – but many people say they are the lifeblood of our industry.

That's because they write the checks …

Yes, I'm talking about Clients.

You can find them online or by networking with businesses in your local community. But to find a lot of clients – fast – there's just one place to go …

The Job Fair at Bootcamp.

All week, I've been sharing ideas you can use anywhere. But when it comes to clients, I have to talk about Bootcamp.

It's not just because you'll get more jobs and more offers at Bootcamp than anywhere else. It's because I owe my own success to Job Fair, so I know first-hand how well it works.

My first year, I made enough from Job Fair to more than pay for my trip to Florida. The second year, I had two full time job offers less than a month after Bootcamp – offers that came complete with full benefits and relocation packages.

How did it happen?

Well, some of the biggest names in the direct mail business come to Bootcamp every year. They attend all the speaker sessions. They mingle with writers over lunches, dinner, and drinks. And at Job Fair Friday afternoon, they want to talk to you.

It's very different from “normal” job hunting environments. Everyone at Job Fair has a real and present need for talent, and they are all ears when it comes to meeting new and emerging writers.

You see, they don't need you next month or even next year – they want to hire you now. They are actively looking to fill full-time, part-time, retainer, and freelance contracts. They know the value of what you can do for them, and they want to start getting that value right away.

Writers come to Bootcamp with empty schedules and walk out with work for months. Small spec assignments to test the water can turn into major package purchases. Article orders turn into sales letter orders, which sometimes turn into retainer relationships.

And all you need to do is make sure you're in the right place at the right time …

Don't worry if you don't have clients now. Don't worry if you're just getting started. Clients want good copy, no matter how long you've been writing. They know the AWAI programs prepare you to excel, and they're willing to give you a chance.

So make sure you're with me in Delray Beach this October. Meet your Inspirations in person. Enjoy great teaching. Expand your network of Supporters and link up with your Connectors.

But most importantly, come meet your next group of Clients.
