Do This — Your Career Could
Change Instantly!

Rae Robinson here, with the second part of my success story: How I multiplied my income fourfold last year … and how you can do the same.

Yesterday, you discovered that the relationships you build with fellow copywriters can be an invaluable resource.

Today, I promised I’d tell you about the people that can change the course of your career in an instant:

The AWAI staff.

These are the folks who meet hundreds of copywriters every year … and know the world’s top paid copywriters on a first-name basis.

At Bootcamp, the AWAI staff members are there for you from morning ‘til night to make sure you have the best Bootcamp experience possible. They’re even there after the sessions are over, and are happy to talk with you on a personal level.

But if you can’t make Bootcamp this year, you can always get ahold of them via email or telephone.

All you have to do is ask them for help. You’ll be amazed at what can come out of it.

Let me tell you about my experience doing just that.

On the second morning of Bootcamp, I was in the lobby worrying about my client of two years — a plastic surgeon. I wanted out of the relationship, but I felt stuck.

And being asked to write a medical textbook was the last straw.

Then, Rebecca Matter, AWAI’s Co-Managing Partner, walked in and asked what was wrong. I told her I didn’t want to write 10,000 pages on liposuction.

“So don’t,” she said. “What you write is your choice.”

That moment of empowerment was the first step to my success. That night, I emailed the client telling him I wouldn’t be writing the book. Two months later, I “fired” him. I was then able to take a new client I met at Job Fair (whom I’ll tell you more about on Thursday!).

It was nothing more than a moment, but that’s how quickly talking (or emailing) with an AWAI staff member can change your career, if you just ask for help.

If there’s something on your mind right now, why not shoot AWAI an email today? Maybe you’re not sure the writer’s life is for you … or you’re wondering if Bootcamp can really make that much of a difference … or you’re having trouble picking a niche. These are excellent questions to ask AWAI and they’re more than happy to help.

You can get a hold of them today using this contact form, or plan to ask one of them at Bootcamp! Trust me, the results you’ll get from having your obstacles resolved will shoot you forward by leaps and bounds.

Tomorrow, I’ll introduce you to the third group of people you’ll meet at Bootcamp (and beyond) … and how to squeeze every ounce of wisdom out of them you can.

  1. Rae - Thanks so much for sharing your lightbulb moment. I think a lot of writers get into that trap of not wanting to turn down work, even if the niche/subject matter/client is (to be tactful) not that appealling.
THIS moment, and THIS AWAI opportunity is a chance to change and write with both head and heart - that's my goal for this year. Thanks so much for the reminder to all of us who want a better writing life as well as a better life.
