American Writers & Artists Institute Names the Winners of Its 2013 Spec Challenge

The five members who submitted winning entries received a $1,000 check and the chance to work with AWAI on future paid copywriting projects.

Delray Beach, FL – November 4, 2013 – American Writers & Artists Institute announced today the winners of its 2013 Spec Challenge, which allows any member to submit a headline and lead for any American Writers & Artists Institute program. Entries are reviewed by the AWAI marketing team, and the best are given the chance to use their copywriting skills to fully develop a sales letter to be used in a real world marketing effort.

Winners receive a $1,000 check. And if their sales letter does well, they receive further compensation. Of more than 100 submissions this year, five made the cut.

“It's always tough to choose. We get so much good copy,” says American Writers & Artists Institute Executive Director Katie Yeakle. “But this year's winners really stood out, and I look forward to working with them in the coming year.”

The $1K Spec Challenge winners were recognized during a special awards luncheon at American Writers & Artists Institute's FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair, which took place October 23 – 26. The annual event features the top copywriting experts working in the field today speaking on industry trends, giving tips for landing clients, and offering strategies for more effective copywriting. Attendees also find valuable networking with fellow writers, and the opportunity to work with top publishers and marketing companies during the event's Job Fair.

But in the Internet Age, a lot of marketing and advertising has moved online and copywriting has moved with it.
