Goals – Write Them Down!

As you read about setting goals, you may be tempted to store yours in your head …

But, I know from experience, that’s a recipe for giving up before you achieve success.

Instead, boost your chances of reaching your goals by writing them down.

Almost every expert agrees. As Mark Ford quotes in his book, The Pledge (written under his former pen name, Michael Masterson), a recent DayTimer.com study found that, “American workers with the highest incomes and most success in the workplace are those who have written goals.”

He goes on to say that these same people are also in the habit of writing daily task lists.

Plus, many of them prioritize their lists to help them achieve their goals.

Today’s Action Step: You might have already figured it out, but today’s action step is to write down your goals.

If you need help setting goals you’re naturally passionate about, go here.

If you already have your goals written down, review them often.

And, of course, we’d like to cheer you on, so share your goals in the comments here.

Tomorrow, I’ll share the method I use to instantly make my goals seem more attainable.

  1. My mission statement:Building teamwork and faith through written word.

(Note: If children and adults could learn more of how to get beyond self centered goals to faith in working as a team for our USA, we will see a renewal of our land economically and spiritually.

  2. Below are 5 goals that that I have set for myself as I begin my career as a copywriter:

    1. Finish the 90 day course in 60 days
    2. Land my first of many copywriting jobs
    3. Build a successful business
    4. Pay off debt
    5. Purchase house/land in Western part of the    state

I would appreciate all the encouragement I can get!

    Thank you!

  3. I have a goal of becoming financially independent and having a house of my own, being able to pay bills and have some money to actually live instead of struggling to make ends meet. In addition, I want to have more time for my children and grandchildren, and be able to help them discover ways not to spend their lives struggling financially, as I have. Writing is something I do for myself, just because I love it, so I am interested in ways to make money writing for others.

  4. I have a slight lead when it comes to writing. I have been successfully writing eBay listings for 12 years. However it has been within the past 6 months that my writing style has been perfected. Now I have two websites with several pages ranking within the top 3 pages of Google. I feel that my writing is where it needs to be or at least close to it. So my goals are:

Finish reading Copywriting 101 and related materials Receive feedback on my writing Find a copywriting job Pay my monthly bills
