Taming the Tigers
“You’re going to be so bored!”
I heard these words when I told friends and associates that Linda and I were moving to the small little town where we now live.
There are times when I wish I were bored. It’s so easy to get involved in my community. Tutoring kids. Joining Rotary. Being on various boards and volunteering at numerous events.
All this on top of my copywriting and working with AWAI and Circle of Success.
So much to do …
… and, to add to everything going on, I’m co-directing our Rotary Club’s triathlon that’s looming not far down the road.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t trade my life for anything. This is why I became a copywriter. But there are times when it’s more than a little stressful.
Not all stress is bad, but …
Some stress can be good. But too often it can seriously impact productivity, clarity, and enjoyment of life. Too much stress of the wrong kind can hurt your copywriting.
I have a good friend — a fellow Rotarian — who tells me I should learn to meditate. She’s right. But until yesterday, I figured I didn’t have the time. Ironic, isn’t it?
Well, Katie Yeakle handed me the answer to my dilemma without realizing it. Yesterday, she sent me information about a new program AWAI is offering and asked if I wanted to write about it in The Golden Thread.
It’s a 21-day series created especially for writers featuring the same meditation technique Katie uses. The person who’s leading it is Katie’s own personal meditation mentor — Dr. Annette Annechild.
I’ve known Katie going on 15 years now. I’ve always been amazed at how much she’s able to accomplish. How much energy she has. And how good she is at what she does.
Katie is focused, confident, and successful.
I’ve often wondered how she does it.
I won’t insult you by saying this is all because of meditation. But reading what she has gained from meditation and from Dr. Annechild convinced me of two things.
Fighting tigers without the proper defense …
First, I was convinced I had to tell you about this program Katie’s named Accessing the Writer Within: Your 21-Day Journey to Unlocking and Unleashing Your True Writing Potential.
Now, this isn’t just about meditation. Accessing the Writer Within is about your becoming the best copywriter you can possibly be. How is that possible?
I just have to think back to my beginning copywriting days. I was frequently beset by the tigers of self-doubt. Fear. Lack of confidence. Does any of that sound familiar to you?
I had to “bull it through” (my mother’s expression) in those early days. I kept pressing ahead, even when it all seemed futile.
Reading through Katie’s letter about Dr. Annechild’s program made me wish I’d had meditation to ease my early struggles. That’s the first, and most important, reason I’m talking to you about Accessing the Writer Within today. I cannot imagine you haven’t faced similar personal tigers.
But I hope and pray you don’t have to face those doubts, fears, and anxieties without tools to help you move beyond them. That’s what this program can do.
If it’s good enough for you, it’s good enough for me …
The second thing Katie’s letter convinced me to do is to sign up myself. You know how I said I didn’t have time to learn to meditate?
I can certainly afford 10 to 15 minutes each morning and night for 21 days. That’s a tiny commitment of time that promises huge returns in my life.
And, I know it will do the same for you.
There’s a funny thing about committing to take a giant step like this. Remember how I said this time of the year brings me a huge amount stress? Sometimes that stress makes me unable to focus … figuratively and literally … on what I need to do.
As soon as I made the commitment to be part of Accessing the Writer Within, I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders.
I want this for you …
I don’t usually talk about the cost of the program if I write about it in The Golden Thread. Normally at this point I’d urge you to click a link to learn more about the program.
I’m doing it differently this time. Because …
… what do you have to lose for just $29?
Knowing it’ll cost you so little and you’ll gain so much, I urge you to take a few minutes to learn more about it.
Please click here right now to take that first step toward building confidence … taming self-doubt … and silencing fear.
