The World’s 3 Most Powerful
Headline Techniques
If you’ve been following along all week, you’re well on your way to mastering headline writing.
Armed with the powerful lessons you’ve been getting from Clayton Makepeace (one of the world’s highest-paid copywriters), you have what you need to write better headlines than most other writers out there.
But today, let’s kick it up a notch.
I want to share with you what Clayton feels are the world’s three most powerful headline techniques. These techniques have been used by the world’s most famous and successful copywriters to create winning promotions time after time.
And now, you’re about to add them to your copywriting “bag of tricks.”
Here they are:
Pure benefit headline. As the name implies, this kind of headline focuses solely on the benefit the prospect will get as a result of reading the rest of the copy. One example is:
“Lose up to 10 lbs in 2 weeks with this Doctor’s simple diet.”
Pure emotion headline. This type of headline focuses strictly on your prospect’s emotions, and may only imply the benefits the prospect gets for reading on. One example from a very successful financial promotion is:
“Lies, Lies, Lies!
We investors are FED UP
with everyone lying to us
and wasting our money!"
Combined benefit/emotion headline. This gives your prospect the best of both worlds. You grab his attention with an emotional headline that validates his dominant emotions … and follow up with a practical benefit.
For example:
“Laugh All The Way To The Gas Pump!
How rising gas prices can make you up to 307% richer in 2006″
I’ve picked out another great article from Clayton, where he explains each of these in greater detail … and gives you many more examples to look at.
Plus, he gives you four quick ways to supercharge any headline. Click here to read it now, and let me know what you think in the comments!
Tomorrow, you’ll get the final step to ensure a successful career using all that you’ve learned so far.
