How to Land Your First 3 Social Media Clients

If you’ve been with me all week, reading my daily articles on social media, I hope you now realize there’s a huge opportunity here, just waiting to be grasped.

Think about it … you’re already online, you already have online writing skills, and you may already have some online copywriting clients.

Nothing could be easier than adding social media to the list of services you already offer your online clients.

Do that and you’ll immediately create a powerful new revenue stream for your business.

For online writers, social media is a natural and lucrative add-on.

And, here’s how you can get your first three social media clients …

  1. Pitch social media to existing and past clients.

Let clients know you now offer social media marketing services … including social media strategy and planning, writing social media content, optimizing existing web content for social media, using social media as part of promotional campaigns, and so on.

If you already have a relationship with these companies, this should be a simple cross-sell for you.

  2. Approach local companies.

If you don’t yet have any clients, a great way to get started is to begin small by approaching local retail companies in your own community.

Restaurants can use social media to announce special menus and deals.

Coffee shops can use social media to promote special events.

My local veterinary office uses Facebook to promote pet-care lectures and related product specials.

Once you have a few local clients under your belt, you can then use them as case studies for bigger and better clients.

  3. Use your own social media channels to attract new clients.

Whatever your specialty or niche, you can find related groups on Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ … and then let them know of the services you offer.

In other words, walk the walk. Use social media as a means to attract new social media clients.

OK … that pretty much wraps up this five-part series.

I hope I’ve done a good enough job of explaining the scope of the opportunity. And I hope you can see how easy it is to add social media as an additional arrow in your quiver of services.

Truly, the time is now. Jump into social media marketing, develop it as a new revenue stream, and reap the rewards as the social, mobile web grows to dominate business online.
