Congratulations to AWAI’s 2014 Spec Challenge Winners!
At the recent FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair, AWAI announced this year’s Spec Challenge winners. The Challenge is a chance for Bootcamp attendees to submit a headline and lead for any AWAI program, with the best submissions chosen to work further with AWAI.
It’s always a tough decision, as there are many well-written entries. Here are this year’s winners and the program they wrote about:
- Christy Goldfeder — FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair
- Les Worley — FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair
- Valerie Swiderski — Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting
- Scott Martin — FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair
- Elizabeth Blessing — Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting
“It was a fantastic and overwhelming experience,” says Valerie of her win.
“What a warm welcome to the writer’s life!” adds Les.
Each winner received a $1,000 prize and was recognized at Bootcamp. Next, they’ll take their copy through the peer-review process with the AWAI team. If their copy is chosen to be mailed to AWAI subscribers … they’ll earn another $500 – or more – to complete the project.
We’ll soon hear more from each Spec Challenge winner about what they did to win and what else they’ve been up to in their freelance careers. In the meantime, let’s join together to congratulate these winners.
And don’t forget, you could join them next year. Spec Challenges are announced before AWAI’s FastTrack to Copywriting Success Bootcamp and Job Fair every year and are open to all Bootcamp attendees, regardless of experience. It’s a great stepping stone for your writing business … and submitting copy for consideration is great experience in itself.
