AWAI Member Takes Home $300 for Spec Assignment

As a member of the Web Copywriting 2.0 program, Jeiselle London had the opportunity to submit a spec assignment for review by the AWAI marketing team. And her hard work paid off. Her copy – a landing page for How to Price and Land the Top 7 Web Copy Projects – was chosen to be used in an upcoming marketing campaign – and she received a $300 fee. “AWAI is responsible for training many of the best direct response copywriters. So for them to choose something that I wrote to help sell one of their products is amazing,” explains Jeiselle.

“It also proves that I’ve absorbed the material from the courses, and that has helped to build my belief that I, too, have the potential to succeed in the direct response copy business. When I read the good news in the email, my excitement went through the roof!”

Jeiselle has been a professional writer for many years but recently turned her attention to freelance copywriting in order to achieve the writer’s life. Aside from Web Copywriting 2.0, Jeiselle has also studied email copywriting in the Email Copy Made Easy Program.

“It’s unfortunate that many people are forced to engage in work that they don’t enjoy. It can rob them of their happiness. But, when you’re passionate about writing and you’re able to write from anywhere for as many hours as you’d wish, that’s empowering,” notes Jeiselle.

“Now, that extra time and energy can be spent on important areas of your life like regular exercise, spending time with your family, and pursuing other interests.”

Aside from studying copywriting, Jeiselle is also actively prospecting for clients in the self-help niche in order to achieve her goal of going full-time as a freelancer. Writing isn’t just a career for her; it’s a passion.

“I think from age 11, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that included a lot of writing. From early on, I became aware of the fact that good writing can help people. So I always strive to use my power as a writer to improve people’s lives.”
