Congratulations to Wealthy Web Writer Challenge Winner, David Vigna
When Wealthy Web Writer issued a Challenge to its members to share their stories of landing their first client, David Vigna rose to the occasion.
In 500 words, he described what went into landing his first client … the nerves, the procrastination, the commitment to action, and the success. His entertaining account made him a Challenge winner.
As such, he took part in a featured interview with Heather Robson, the Managing Editor of Wealthy Web Writer, and has had an expanded version of his original submission published to the Wealthy Web Writer site.
In his original submission, David talked about something that so many fellow writers deal with: the fear of moving outside of his comfort zone. He shared how he overcame that, and how he eventually settled on Upwork as his first method of connecting with potential clients.
In his interview, David talks about his future plans to use LinkedIn to a better advantage and to join a Marketing Association to connect with more potential clients.
To writers working on landing a first client, David says, “Find out what you know a lot about or what you love and don’t mind learning about, and start there … find that niche and get real serious about it.” Beyond that, he recommends that you pick a strategy and stick with it. “Trust the process,” he says, “ … if you do that you’ll come out just fine.”
Check out the full interview with David — he shares a number of tips that will help you get out and start landing clients.
