Professional Background:

My background is in journalism, the last 24 years as the editor of a weekly newspaper. I retired, effective April 1, 2011, from that profession with the purpose of working as a freelance copywriter. I had already done website content writing for private clients, as well as case studies for FutureThink (subcontracted). Since then I have been contracted by a local insurance underwriting company, Tuscarora Wayne, for website content, news releases and brochures, and biginterview.com, a developing career coaching website, for content and blogs. I have been subcontracted to produce SEO-friendly content for an Chicago area car dealer, working with key words and meta-tags. On the side, I am writing a book about the victim of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and editing a manuscript for a children's book. My daughter, Pamela, is President of Skillful Communications, and my son, Jeremy, is an SEO specialist. I have worked with both on projects. I write copy for local nonprofits at no charge.
