AWAI is Looking for our Next Member Services Superstar!

American Writers & Artists Institute (AWAI) has been helping writers live the writer’s life for almost 20 years …

We believe you can make a great living as a writer with the right training and guidance. And that’s why AWAI prides itself not only on teaching people the skills they need to do the most in-demand and well-paid writing projects today, but also giving them the tools and access necessary to find clients and build a successful writing business.

Our training programs and live events attract people who are looking to make a change. They’re dissatisfied with the traditional 9-to-5 life, and hope to leave it while still maintaining financial security. They want the freedom to live where they want and work when they want … and love the idea of turning their writing passion into a full-time or even spare-time career.

In other words, they want to live the writer’s life!

AWAI is looking for a Member Service Professional to help us guide our members to success by providing them with personalized customer service and the direction they need to continue moving forward.

The person we’re looking for is driven by the opportunity to help people succeed. You’ll work with our members on the phone and over email by explaining in more detail what programs and services we offer, helping them register for events, assisting in the selection and ordering of training programs, resolving billing issues, and resolving general technical issues about accessing their programs. You will also be responsible for updating/modifying customer and order records, and working with other departments to communicate challenges and opportunities.

But that’s not all …

Since AWAI is a member-driven company, we will ask you to come up with ideas and strategies to improve our members’ experience with AWAI. You can’t be shy when it comes to generating ideas and sharing them with us. (This is the fun part of the job!)

Other qualities and characteristics critical to success in this position include:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • An excellent phone voice and effective written communication skills
  • A strong functional knowledge of computers and the internet
  • Curiosity to learn about our products and our industry
  • Patience to troubleshoot problems
  • Critical thinking to come up with solutions
  • A sense of pride in being part of a team and helping that team to succeed

AWAI is a small company with fewer than 20 full-time employees located in beautiful Delray Beach, Florida. The right candidate can expect to be veryhands-on in our service efforts. We’re looking for the kind of person who is enthusiastic and gets charged up in a fast-paced environment!
