  1. My goals for 2011: I intend to make enough money that we can stop worrying about the financial fall out from my hubby's ongoing health battle.

I will have a rock solid plan and roadmap that I work and follow. I will enjoy fantastic tangible and measurable results in the form of great income, great clients, fun interesting work, and an expanding client base. I'll clearly define my niches.
I'll feel great about my work, and my accomplishments.

  2. My goal is to launch my resume writing business and website!

  3. O.K., I've done my learning. My confidence is soaring. Now I'm ready to commit to be all I can be by the end of 2011 with more money in the bank than I've ever had. But most important, to move to Ecuador (where I already own an apartment) totally self-sufficient without being slavely dependent on my measly Social Security checks.

The plan and roadmap are laid out. Focus will prevail!

  4. By this date in 2011, I will be able to share my success story with my copywriting business. A part of that story--financial increase, along with the life balance that allows me time & resources for the people and things that matter.

I've already begun by writing my goals & placing them strategically before me. My goals planner includes action steps (that I'm already beginning to take). Wisdom is key, so I've also purposed to attend every copywriting workshop/teleseminar I can in 2011.

  9. I have so many goals for 2011, it's hard to name just one! However, my biggest, most important goal--I will agree with Mindy Tyson McHorse and Rebecca Matter on this one--is to get my website where I want it by February 1, 2011, to showcase my new B2B marketing copywriting business. My goal is to have the main five pages fully complete by January 1, 2011, and by February have samples of white papers, case studies, and special reports in an online portfolio.

  19. My 2011 writing goal: Quit beating around the bush and do it already!
*I will commit to one niche. (Gasp!)
*I will choose one spec assignment.
*I will stare at the blank screen until enough words flow out of me to create a sentence.
*I will stick with that last idea until this assignment is complete.
*Finally, I will use this piece as a springboard to a paying client.
To achieve my goal, I will:
Find and join a writing group.
Regularly contribute and support the writers in my group.

  24. This is a two-part goal for 2011. It has to do with my entering the "second half" of my life and completely changing who I am and what I do. I WILL become a freelance B2B copywriter in this second half.

So, what is my goal for '11? First, I will create a very successful money-making website of my own. My income goal target to hit within 2011 is $5000/month gross. This will come from misc ad revenues, and info products.

I will leverage the success of my website and use pages, content, emails and special reports as writing samples and examples of demonstated ability in my B2B copywriting buisness.

I want to complete five paid assignments for clients next year.

My best to everyone else in achieving your goals!!!

  48. My goals for 2011 are to become an excellent Master Copywriter, to more than replace my current income, to be proud of the work that I do and to enjoy all of the responsibilities and freedoms that are a part of Copywriting.

    LouiseDecember 9, 2010 at 8:22 am

  49. My first goal of 2011 is to make writing a priority. I will do this by writing for 6 hours a day, 4 days a week. One of those days will be spent working on my novel; one on my copywriting business; one on articles - both web and print; and one on marketing. I realize the journey is the destination and plan to enjoy every minute.

    Guest (Cindi)December 9, 2010 at 10:28 am

  50. My goal is to make a list of topics I can write about and devote at least one hour a day writing a "spec", so that I can use it as examples of my copywriting skills thereby overcoming my current problem of submitting examples of my work in bidding for new assignments from prospective clients. (Maybe AWAI can help with a few commonly asked for topics for assignments, just to get the juices flowing?). I need to start writing SOMETHING, or I will always lack the courage to put myself out there as a copywriter.

    Cato DeWDecember 9, 2010 at 11:20 am

  51. My 2011 goal isn't one goal, it is multiples. Each quarter I have outlined multiple goals, from building and writing more of my own information websites, to helping others and teaching others to do the same; recording my own hypnosis and meditation CD's; writing daily, or at least every few days, for a blog that is near and dear to my heart; and, to complete the writing for 3 books. One I am under contract for, one is a wellness book, and the other a novel. You'll see me at the top of the best seller lists before the new year is out!

    Wendy December 9, 2010 at 12:38 pm

  61. My goal for 2011 is to re-focus on my freelance writing business and build it into the self-sufficient state it once was -- and then to go beyond into the freedom producing entity it was always intended to be!!!!

    Guest (Teresa Hall)December 9, 2010 at 5:05 pm

  62. I love goal setting and I have goals for each area of my life. A major goal for 2011 is to set up a new source of passive income that will compliment my current business. I am taking steps to create a membership website or monthly newsletter for my niche. I want to achieve this goal so that I will have more free time to spend with my family and 1 year old baby!

    Guest (Mike Snyder)December 9, 2010 at 5:08 pm

  63. My goal for 2011, more than any other, is to continue on the path of being a "dreaming doer". We all have dreams, but if we never act on them, that's all they will remain. I no longer refer to "someday when I..." Someday is here, the time is now, and every day is a gift to be unwrapped with gratitude and the confidence knowing that "I AM a copywriter". I am, I will, I can, and there's nothing that can stop my success, but me.

    AimeeDecember 9, 2010 at 5:10 pm

  64. After some consideration, I've decided to refine my goals. One goal still remains to summit two glaciated peaks this spring/summer. The other goes beyond earning six figures as a content marketing specialist. My goal is to become one of the top five content marketing strategists in the country! Oh, and this is for Rebecca... Go 'noles.

    SidDecember 9, 2010 at 5:14 pm

  65. My goal is to honor my commitment to "family time" and to generally enjoy life instead of putting work ahead of other priorities.

    MindyDecember 9, 2010 at 5:18 pm

  66. This year, I had a goal forced on me. I looked Death in the face and spit in his eye! Next year, my copywriting business is going to take off like a rocket. No more wishy-washy attempts at getting clients; I'm going all out. I have a niche picked out which should narrow the field I've been trying to cover and I'm ready to kick _ss! 2011 is the year I get out of debt and start socking the money away! Believe it or not, I'm glad I nearly died; it makes life so much clearer.

    jeanieDecember 9, 2010 at 5:21 pm

  67. Complete my AWAI courses by February 14th 2011 (Valentines Day) and have my Copywriting website on line and ready for clients. I will acquire a stream of steady clients and write enough copy, web content and white papers, to secure a gross income of $90,000 by the end of the year. This will allow me the freedom to purchase another RV and work while traveling the glorious USA.

    Guest (Dan Parsley)December 9, 2010 at 5:30 pm

  68. My goal is to achieve a steady flow of income so that I don't have to worry about if I'll have enough money to pay my bills and to occasionally enjoy myself. Also I don't want to be stuck with a boss that can make my life miserable. It seem every time I get an eight hour a day job I get stuck with a boss who has an emotional problem and needs make someone miserable so he can feel good about himself.

    EdithDecember 9, 2010 at 5:40 pm

  69. This is my year to make money while I sleep! E-book content creation here I come thanks to the cheerleading from Bob Bly and his AWAI wordsmith buddies. 83. My goal for 2011. To achieve success as a full-time copywriter, earning enough to leave the day job behind. I can see it, I can almost taste it -- and it's delicious! I'm just going to keep learning and writing and submitting until everything clicks. Then, I'll write some more...

  84. I am using Michael Masterson's new book, The Pledge: Your Master Plan for an Abundant Life, as a blueprint to assist in my personal/professional reinvention. Newly divorced and determined to knock it out of the park as a web copywriter & branding specialist, my goal is to live a healthy & wealthy life leveraging my creativity and communication skills. This spring, I will use my experience & expertise to launch a coaching program for boomer women who want a successful business of their own.

  86. My monetary goal for 2011 is to be on a cash basis by the end of the year.I am improving in my copywriting skills each day and gaining confidence so I am completely confident I can meet that goal. A second goal is that I will have received payments for at least 15 projects...in addition to spec assignments, and my third is that my novel PERHAPS IN GOD'S LIFETIME will continue to sell as well as it is at present. Thanks for this opportunity to enter the contest.

  87. My goal is to double my income from 3 sources: website copywriting work, coaching work, and "residual" income from books and joint ventures that will continue to feed my income with minimal effort. I plan to publish a "what works online" book in my niche market 1st Q 2011 no matter what! It's nearly done and would give me a wonderful platform as a web copywriting authority in that particular niche. Thanks to AWAI, I have a clear plan to make all this happen!!

  89. My main goal for 2011 is to develop a solid plan and follow it without loosing focus. There will be many details in the plan, but mainly it will involve taking all the knowledge I have been accumulating in relation to internet marketing and copywriting and putting it into action. So really that's my goal in a nutshell for 2011: TAKE ACTION!!!

    Beth GensonDecember 10, 2010 at 8:23 am

  94. I recently graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing. At a final "job talk" our seasoned and tenured professors gave, they told us that as far as jobs concerning writing go, we have two options: be lucky and talented enough to receive a paid fellowship somewhere, or be lucky and talented enough to get a job teaching comp for bad money, bad hours, and uninterested students. My goal for 2011 is to show them all-- peers included--that there ARE options for writers out there! Full time, freelance copy writing career, I look forward to meeting you very soon!

I will work from home and earn a great living doing something that I was born to do. To write, to tell others about the things I discovered while doing research.

I will be traveling with my wife as I retire her from her full time job and we start to visit our grandchildren. 102. My goal for 2011 is to implement what I learned in Grant Writing Success to raise funds for faith based non profits. Specifically, to find funding for Hearts for Heaven to build a vocational school in Guatemala for children enrolled in the feeding program. We need $75,000 to get the project started. I used the sources listed in Grant Writing Success and Internet Research Specialist to target five promising foundations. In addition, I will develop a website to market my grant writing skills. This is a great career for someone with a dual disability of low vision and deafness! I may not be able to go and build the school, but I can help to find funding for it!

  108. Taking the first step. That is my goal for 2011 and creating a path. I am new to copywriting, but it is an interest for me and I am dedicating time and effort to making my dreams into reality. I will be purchasing the Accelerated Program for Copywriting in January and to begin a part time, and then full time, change of lifestyle. I work overseas, and I need to be home more for my boys, and I am taking the first step to accomplishing this task.

  118. TEAMWORK and planning with my wife-mentor, Maggie, is my foundational goal for 2011. I would not be in this business without her inspiration and advice. I received three offers for writing copy for the web to help each build their on-line business. Our site Ventureserve Publishing needs better copy for our products and AWAI affiliates. Maggie, a COS member, wrote the copy for my ABC Piano Playing Method. Selling it around the world to that special targeted group is our plan.

  119. My chief goal for 2011 is to apply the selling and copywriting knowledge I've accumulated through this year, and start my freelance copywriting career. Knowledge and experience are the primary things I'm after, I know money will follow once I'm good at what I'm doing.

There's one vision (originally gotten from Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting) that keeps me motivated while I'm learning and practicing copywriting - vision of my future job application getting accepted by AWAI.

    Laura ZDecember 11, 2010 at 12:55 pm

  124. I'm taking the first step. The first step to learning about copywriting, as I will be purchasing the program and executing the steps to success; the first step to financial independence to replace my job which requires me to be away from home for months at a time; and the first step to a new me, broadening my horizons into talents that I need to sharpen and polish. Everything else will fall into place once I take that first step.

    CL SteenDecember 11, 2010 at 12:59 pm

  125. My goal is to take the copywriting freelance writing program by the horns and get a runnining start. I plan on buying my mother a home and paying off most of my bills. I also plan on losing around thirty pounds and shaping up quite a bit. Of course having fun along the way. I'm close to the lemonade. I just hope it's cold!

I am committed to making my copywriting business successful enough to make plenty of money that will take care of me and those I love.

I will be making $100,000.00 by the end of 2011! Can't wait! Tired of being poor and almost homeless!

    Sherlock26December 11, 2010 at 8:10 pm

  129. My goal for 2011 is to finally take action towards achieving a successful writing career. I have always had such vivid dreams of being a writer, but have been too afraid to take the first steps. Now, instead of dreaming of the great stories that I COULD and SHOULD write, I will actually BEGIN writing them. I will become more educated and well practiced; I will pull every ounce of confidence out of me to meet my writing goals so that I can prove my dreams right!

After the workshop, my goal for 2011 is to move to Cuenca and continue with my travel writing. I'm learning how to turn my dream into a reality with planning, hard work and perserverance.
My self confidence has soared and every day now I think of mi vida nueva to come in Cuenca!

    L4slundonthemoveDecember 12, 2010 at 1:16 pm

  132. I WANT MY FREEDOM!

I’m tired of depending on others for my well-being. INDEPENDENCE is my goal for 2011.

Like most people, I've always had a "job", which meant working for someone else. I worked at their pleasure, kept their hours, and followed their sometimes silly rules. They forced me to change who I am to meet their needs. And I'm tired of doing that.

It’s no fun being a square peg in a round hole just to fit someone else's idea of who I am or who I should be. I don’t want to do that anymore.

I want to fire my boss and take his place. I want to work at MY pleasure, when I want, where I want, on a daily schedule that suits me. Above all else, I want my creativity and experience to be valued, not discouraged or ignored or dismissed.

I WILL finish the Six-Figure Copywriting course in 2011. Twice. Maybe three times.

I WILL somehow, some way, find my copywriting niche, whatever it might be. I haven’t found it yet, but I will. I kno

    Jim LawrenceDecember 12, 2010 at 1:22 pm

  133. My goal for 2011 is to become a full time, working copywriter by the end of the year.To build long lasting relationships with good clients so both their business and mine will prosper.

This description includes the amount of money I want to earn, the type of clients I want to work with, and the projects I want to work on. My ideal day includes time for learning as well as for my family. I got this idea from the Wealthy Freelancer and have written my ideal day for each day of the week. I'm now putting this info on a 3x5card to carry in my wallet.

    2011 will be great.

My goal for 2011 is to gain one new client a month that will generate a minimum of $5K so that by this time next year, I will have made in excess of $80,000, able to start a Bible class for business executives and visit our daughter who is with the Peace Corps in Africa.

  147. I have several goals for 2011. My wife and I bought a pet supplies store in July, so my first goal is to use my copywriting to grow the clientele and make it profitable.

Second is to plan out how to expand the business by adding a second location.

Third is to use this experience to land copywriting clients in the pets business.

It may be a busy year, but I plan on ending it on a high note!

  150. My goal for 2011 is one word: FOCUS. I've spent too much of my life flitting around from one project to the next, starting one website and then another, never really succeeding at anything, much less finishing.

When I began my work-at-home journey, my plan was to earn enough so that my husband, who is ill, could stop working and concentrate on getting well. By focusing during 2011, not only will that be a reality, but I will also be well on my way to being a highly successful copywriter.

    Sally DDecember 13, 2010 at 1:43 pm

  151. I have several goals to be able to have a solid, successful B2B copywriting business in 2011, working with great clients, and hit the 6 figures mark.
First, I plan on having my site up (it’s at the designers now) and complete by January 1, 2011 along with my Free Report and eNewsletter. I have my business cards ordered.
I’m firming up my other marketing tools. I’m dying to hit the ground running. With the help of AWAI and the COS I will stay on track to move forward.
To celebrate my success I will be attending Boot Camp in 2011.

I keep thinking I need more information, more training, more gizmos and gadgets. All of which cost money. Investing in myself is one thing, giving in to sheer terror is something else!

I have what I need to set up as a copywriter. There will be ups and downs and lots more to learn. And I'll learn on the job. I can handle this. I'm determined to give good value and enjoy the learning curve.

    I'm on my way!

  349. My goal is to stop procrastinating and do it! I comit to writing every day, and stop endless searches for more resources and study materials before I put pen to paper. I'v been in information overload since I found AWAI in 2006 and attended that fall's Bootcamp. My bookshelves and tables are stacked with every program AWAI offers. I've yet to submit anything. The courses are great and the support staff is fabulous-so what is wrong with me? My confidence level is 0. I want to get on in 2011.

  352. We've doubled online sales from 2009. Sales pages are converting like gangbusters (around 65%). Emails are garnering increased click through rates. And we've doubled the size of our list.

In 2011, I want to keep up the momentum and double everything again. With testing and measuring, we're about to turn our tactics into a reliable system.

I also want to increase my consulting with authors and newbie marketers and start to sell my direct response writing services (at least 2 clients).

  418. At over a half a century old, this is my journey of a lifetime-finding a niche! My goal prior to the end of Jan 2011 must be to find this niche. The other pieces are nearly in place, but finding an area to focus that can prove profitable for a money making website as well as to focus a B2B web writing business is proving to be the challenge. Once achieved goals are - launch two websites, one for residual income and one for the B2B web writing business, learn social networking (remember I am not from 'generation new') to expand exposure to my sites. Once clients are attracted through various marketing pieces, cross sell services to increase fee income per client and maintain ongoing business relationships.

To make this happen, I have laid out weekly attainable goals to accomplish that bring me closer to the 'launch' of the business-a countdown that will eventually propell me to my live websites and implimentation of marketing pieces.

  450. My prime goal for 2011 is to market myself better. This is a huge stressor for me. With this accomplished, I think the rest will fall into place. Establishing realistic milestones is important for me and I have them now. I am continuing to educate myself in the writing areas that interest me, finishing my writing website, and building my portfolio. I am starting 2011 with two websites successfully accomplished for clients, so I feel like I am on the right path.

  452. I recently became unemployed after 40 years into my career as an Architect. I am at the top of my salary scheduled and with the downturn, employers can hire two employees for what I am worth. So....with this time off I have invested a bit into AWAI's literature and am ready to begin. I have nine story ideas filed away and with my new "spare time" I have made it my goal to get published or accepted in the first month of 2011 and then one a month thereafter (not to mention my stock photo goals. Wish me luck! — Mike G
