From Uncertainty to Impact: How Case Studies Opened the Door to The Writer’s Life
"The Case Study Mastery Certification was my launch pad into content and copywriting." – Valeria Collier-Vick
Valeria Collier-Vick
In early 2020, Valeria Collier-Vick completed AWAI’s Case Study Mastery Certification – her very first certification course. At the time, she couldn’t have imagined that her travel agency business would soon be upended by the pandemic. Looking back, she sees the course as the perfect springboard into a new career: content and copywriting.
The program taught her more than just how to write case studies. Valeria learned to listen deeply to clients, to case study subjects, and to her own instincts. Digging beneath the surface to uncover the heart of the story and capture the “voice” of her subjects has now become her sweet spot.
Valeria has since written multiple case studies, including one for a private foster care placement agency. The director recently praised her work, saying, "Val, thank you for your work on this study. We can tell you have a deep understanding and heart for our work for foster children."
She highly recommends the Case Study Mastery & Certification program to aspiring writers. Beyond instruction and checklists, it teaches the "soft skills" – interviewing, storytelling, and empathy – that turn a standard case study into a compelling story.
Why Writers Should Consider Case Studies:
- Launch a new career path, even when circumstances change unexpectedly.
- Learn to uncover the heart of a story and convey authentic voices.
- Build a portfolio that impresses clients and earns referrals.
- Develop skills that apply to multiple types of writing projects.
- Gain confidence with both technical and “soft skills” that differentiate you in the market.
