From Fiction Dreams to Paying Clients: Proof That One Step Can Change Everything

If you ever needed proof that progress happens one bold step at a time, this recent Circle of Success W.I.N.™ Coaching Session delivered it in spectacular fashion.

The session was buzzing with breakthroughs — from book launches to brand clarity — and every story reminded us how quickly momentum builds when you stay in motion.

Each question opened a new door. Each conversation revealed a spark of courage. And one by one, Circle of Success members discovered what’s possible when you take that next small step — even when you’re not sure where it will lead.

Lindsay Alexander’s Big Win: 460,000 Words of Purpose

What started as a vision board request for “clarity of purpose” turned into a five-book fiction series! COS member Lindsay Alexander has written 460,000 words this year. Her debut novel, Tarot for Two Book One – Alone, written under the pen name Ella Hamilton, releases November 21 on Amazon and is available now for pre-order.

During the session, Rebecca helped Lindsay map out a heartfelt marketing plan centered on authenticity and empathy — because one of her main characters discovers he is neurodivergent. Her work has the potential to help readers who share similar experiences.

It’s proof that when you lean into what fascinates you, focus becomes effortless and the work flows.

Lynn Horwitz’s LinkedIn Leap

When Lynn asked how to turn new LinkedIn connections into paying clients, Rebecca and Pam shared this golden rule:

“Start by saying thank you — then ask, ‘What drew you to me?’”

Rebecca also encouraged Lynn to post three thoughtful, story-driven comments each day on relevant industry posts to help her attract design clients and let her expertise shine.

Elizabeth Stugatz’s Substack Momentum

Elizabeth proudly shared that she’d published her Welcome Email and About Page — two foundational steps every writer needs. She wanted feedback, and fellow COS member Sandy Franks volunteered to review her Welcome Email by subscribing to her newsletter.

After receiving encouraging feedback, Elizabeth asked for guidance on her About Page, which Pam and Rebecca invited her to submit for additional review. It’s a great example of how collaborative the W.I.N.™ Coaching Sessions can be — writers helping writers build confidence and clarity.

Lance Avington’s Brand Alignment

Lance was in the middle of rebranding and asked for feedback on his LinkedIn profile. Rebecca’s advice was simple but powerful:

“Who are you trying to target with your profile?”

That one question led to a complete shift in how Lance positions himself. Instead of “Corporate Financial Controller,” his new headline now reads:

“Architect of Content That Turns Complex Ideas into Sales.”

It’s a small change that makes a big difference — positioning him for content strategy work instead of finance roles.

Dave’s Brand Breakthrough

Dave unveiled his new company, Whole Growth Marketing, focused on helping businesses attract, obtain, and retain customers through full-funnel marketing. When he asked what his next move should be, Pam offered timeless advice:

“One step at a time beats twenty ideas at once. So start posting.”

Kathleen Murray’s Turning Point

Kathleen (“Kat”) combined her tech and teaching background to carve a niche in cybersecurity writing — helping companies explain complex topics in human terms.

Her standout line during the session summed it up perfectly:

“Eighty percent of cybersecurity problems start with human behavior.”

Following advice from Pam’s company audit programs, Kat realized she could help businesses strengthen internal communication by conducting security communication audits.

What once held her back — not having a background in implementing security plans — no longer feels like a barrier. Now she sees a clear path to providing real value.

What This Session Was Really About

Every COS member who showed up left with a clearer focus and renewed confidence. Because every comment, pitch, or post — no matter how small — builds momentum.

That’s the power of the Circle of Success.

When you surround yourself with support, structure, and encouragement — and show up week after week — the wins start to stack up.
